HAPPINESS IS THE PRIMARY MOTTO

YOUNG LEADERS DEVELOPMENT
our people
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
DVC Beautification Program
The Dela Vega City Benevolent Society (DVCBS) believes that a clean, safe, and beautiful environment is the foundation for community pride, health, and unity. Our Beautification Program is dedicated to transforming Dela Vega City into a model community where residents and visitors feel inspired and secure.
What We Do
Clean-Up Campaigns – Mobilizing residents and volunteers to remove garbage, address illegal dumping, and restore public spaces.
Waste Management Advocacy – Working with government agencies and service providers to ensure consistent garbage collection and proper disposal systems.
Infrastructure Renewal – Repairing sidewalks, lighting, block signs, and community spaces that have fallen into disrepair.
Green & Grow Initiative – Planting trees, landscaping open areas, and creating green spaces for children and families to enjoy.
Public Education – Promoting community pride through anti-dumping campaigns and workshops on sustainable waste practices.
Removal of Derelict and Abandoned Vehicles – Partnering with authorities to identify and safely remove abandoned cars that create eyesores, attract crime, and pose safety risks.
Clearing Blocked Drains – Coordinating clean-ups and working with municipal authorities to clear clogged drains, reduce flooding, and protect public health.
Our Impact So Far
Negotiated with waste management officials during service disruptions, leading to the resumption of garbage collection.
Secured resources and support from elected officials for community improvement.
Oversaw the construction of the first new road in Dela Vega City in over 40 years.
Installed and maintained block and road signage across several sections of the community.
Hosted monthly clean-up drives that brought together residents, youth, and community partners.
Our Vision
The Beautification Program is not just about appearances—it’s about dignity, safety, and opportunity. By tackling illegal dumping, repairing infrastructure, removing derelict vehicles, and clearing drains, we create an environment where residents can thrive, businesses can grow, and young people can look to the future with pride.

The DVC Homework Program
The Dela Vega City Benevolent Society (DVCBS) proudly operates the GraceKennedy-sponsored Homework Program, a cornerstone of our commitment to education. For years, this initiative has supported the academic growth of children in our community, helping them to build strong foundations for future success.
What We Do
Daily After-School Support – Children receive a safe, structured environment where trained tutors and volunteers assist with assignments and exam preparation.
Book Voucher Program – Families struggling with costs receive vouchers for textbooks and learning materials, easing the financial burden of education.
Technology & Learning Tools – We are steadily working to integrate technology into the program, giving students access to digital resources that strengthen learning outcomes.
Mentorship & Guidance – Beyond academics, students are paired with positive role models who encourage discipline, resilience, and self-confidence.
Our Impact
Between 50 and 90 students are served each year, from primary school through secondary school.
Students who participate consistently show improved grades, stronger study habits, and greater self-esteem.
The program has become a safe haven for many children, keeping them positively engaged after school and away from negative influences.
Our Vision
We aim to expand the Homework Program by incorporating more technology, increasing the number of trained tutors, and tracking student performance more systematically. With continued support from partners and donors, we will prepare even more young people to excel academically and pursue their dreams.
